CHASING WATERFALLS POINTE-À-PITRE, GUADELOUPE
Witness the gorgeous cascades of Carbet Waterfalls in Guadeloupe National Park. It is the perfect reward for your hike on a winding path through the forest. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the sight of the 100m middle falls as it thunders through the jungle. The falls have long been admired. They even had a mention in Christopher Columbus’ journal in 1493, when the indigenous Caribs referred to Guadeloupe as ‘Karukera’, meaning ‘Island of Beautiful Waters’. If you prefer an easier walk to a waterfall, there’s La Cascade aux Écrevisses (Crayfish Falls), where you can bathe under the rushing, crystalline water.
