One of Alaska’s oldest and most beautiful cities, Juneau is home to majestic mountains, glaciers, wildlife, and views of waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and ocean. In a town where even pubs and co«ee shops advertise great views of the incredible scenery, it can be hard to know where to go. If you’re a photographer, painter, or simply a lover of the most stunning scenery, these are the places you’ll want to go.

MOUNT ROBERTS TRAMWAY

Perhaps the most popular attraction in Juneau, Mount Roberts Tramway allows visitors to get an unparalleled view of one of Alaska’s most beautiful cities. Since 1996, Mount Roberts Tramway has taken guests from the cruise ship dock in downtown Juneau through the rain forest to the Mountain House at the 1,800- foot level of Mount Roberts, all on an enclosed tramway gondola. At the top, people are treated to one of the most expansive views in Southeast Alaska, with the Chilkat Mountains to the north, the Gastineau Channel to the south, Douglas Island to the west, and Silverbow Basin, where gold was discovered in 1880, on the east. It is the only aerial tramway in southwest Alaska, and one of the most vertical tramways in the world. If you are in Juneau and looking for an incredible view and an experience unlike any other, this is the place to go. Goldbelt Mount Roberts Tramway, 490 S Franklin St, Juneau, AK, USA continue...
