NASSAU, BAHAMAS The pristine, tropical waters of the Bahamas offer some of the world’s best fishing for prized species such as sailfish, wahoo, tuna, mahi-mahi and more. Trolling is generally the preferred method for targeting these fish, as it allows you to cover more area with multiple baits and lures at varying depths and distances in the spread. As you’re waiting for the strike, keep an eye out for diving birds, large patches of sargassum weed or floating objects in the water, as these are often prime indicators of where large pelagic fish may be feeding below. Be ready. When a fish strikes, you will hear the reel start to sing as line begins to peel out, and the fight begins. Brace yourself for an awe-inspiring spectacle, as sailfish and mahi- mahi usually jump several times during the fight, putting on a mesmerizing display of aerial acrobatics.
