ASPENDOS THEATER ANTALYA, TURKEY

RETURN OF THE EMPIRE ANTALYA, TURKEY

Turkey is an excellent place to visit if you love the history of the Greek and Roman empires. Nestled along the coast near Antalya, explore one of the best-preserved theaters of the ancient world, Aspendos. Constructed with intricate decorations and built for extraordinary acoustics, the theater of Aspendos once hosted grand attractions that held 12,000 people. Even today, because of how remarkably well preserved the site is, plays and operas are still held here. Behind the theater is a large area on the hillside, referred to as “The Great Hill,” where you can wander about and admire the many ancient ruins and the massive aqueduct.
